Global Real Estate Trends Hit 'Home' In The Keller Center

March 1, 2013

Many international and US firms are developing a global real estate focus. US-based firms, including Coldwell Banker and Century 21, are making intentional efforts to expand into the global marketplace. China's largest property developer, China Vanke, also recently expanded into the US market by investing in a residential complex in San Francisco, CA. The world is flattening and global business models have become the norm - even in the real estate industry.

One of the ways the Baylor University's Keller Center for Research is staying in-tune with this global real estate trend is through its International Expert Contributor network. Scholars in the area of buyer-seller relationships serve as Expert Contributors to the Keller Center Research Report and provide brief articles periodically on buyer-seller issues related to the real estate industry in their countries of expertise.

"In 2013, our journal will feature articles from scholars in New Zealand, Germany, China, the United Kingdom, and Canada," said Dr. Andrea Dixon, Executive Director of the Keller Center and Editor of the Keller Center Research Report. "Our Expert Contributors and our increasing global network help to broaden our perspective and provide our readership with insights about the world-wide real estate market."

In addition to the scholars featured in 2013, the KCRR has featured work from scholars in France, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Scotland, and Norway, among others.

Another way the Keller Center is enhancing its value to the real estate profession is through its new journal design and website. By updating its image online and in print, and making its website more functional for users, the Center has made its content more accessible for its growing, global readership.

"As of the March 2013 issue, our look-and-feel has been updated," said Curtis Schroeder, Associate Editor. "We indexed the KCRR articles by keywords so our readers can easily search for articles by topic."

The Keller Center is committed to providing information and insights to help advance the real estate profession. Highlighting research from authors around the world is just another way the Center is staying in-tune with its readers and the increasingly global real estate landscape.
